recycling DC Voltage

(OP)
I would like to know how we can recycle DC current to ciruit of main supply?in testing bay we have to test DC motors loaded by another DC generator and consume generated power by heating elements but recycling current could be better economicy way.what is easier way? i note that input current from main supply with output generated current is not equal.

RE: recycling DC Voltage

You need a regenerative or 4-quadrant controller on the load machine. This will enable the load machine to generate power and feed it back to the supply. A quick Google on either of regenerative DC drive or 4 quadrant DC drive will get you a lot of leads. Curiously, based upon the results thrown up by Google, the R&D / technical papers seem to favour the term '4 quadrant' over 'regenerative' while for manufacturers it seems the reverse is true.

RE: recycling DC Voltage

What you do is done in all test stands for truck and car motors. There are standard solutions available, but the more economic way is to just buy an SCR four quadrant drive and put it between generator and mains. Done that several times - no sweat. What do you mean about currents not being equal? There are several reasons that they are not. Not even energy in and out is equal.
