CAD & Analysis Software Convention

CAD & Analysis Software Convention

(OP)
Does anyone know of a convention or expo where a person can find and compare the latest in design drafting and analysis softwares? My company is in the market and I want to see all that is out there. Most of our work is with industrial facilities. Any tips on where to start?

Thanks,!

RE: CAD & Analysis Software Convention

I think contacting each one and have them do a demo at your site would be better than a expo. This way you can ask questions one-on-one vs with a crowd.

Do you know who the big players are in facility/multi discipline design software?

Thanks,

Ray

RE: CAD & Analysis Software Convention

AutoCAD (Autodesk) is major in facilities work.
For mech design: SolidWorks, SolidEdge, ProEngineer, CATIA, Unigraphics (UG) and Inventor (Autodesk).
There are others.

RE: CAD & Analysis Software Convention

inventorer,
This should be a new thread.
Also, ask in the SolidWorks forum.
example: thread555-101667

SolidWorks has no problem with 500 parts, depending on your hardware and settings (same as other CAD software).
