Chilled Water Pipe Insulation

Could anyone kindly tell me what is the principle or any information about chilled water pipe insulation thickness calculation. The temperature in is 55F degree, and temperature out is 45F degree. The pipe size is 5" and 8". Thanks a lot.

RE: Chilled Water Pipe Insulation

Check out this website:  www.naima.com and download their 3E insulation/heat transfer software.

Perry's or Marks' has this very problem in it so those are the references to use.  Go home and read it sometime if you're having trouble falling asleep...

Thanks!
