Value of used air compressor

(OP)
I don't know if this a good use of the forum but searching the NET hasn't yielded much in the way of useful information.
I am looking to purchase a used 75 HP Gardner-Denver Screw compressor; Model ESKAF-2; built in 1980.
I am trying to find a reasonable price to offer the seller since he isn't sure what it is worth.
Opinions are welcome ( boy is that living dangerously)  but actual or historical pricing would be preferred.

Before making an offer, be sure you can get the parts you will need for a bottom-up rebuild.

Try HGR Industrial Surplus They may not have your exact model, but you could compare similar models and the going price.
