Accounting for future concrete columns

Accounting for future concrete columns

Accounting for future concrete columns

(OP)
Hi all

I am designing a concrete building that will have a future storey. I want to account for future splicing rebars. Can you advise me on the best way of doing this.

Thanks for your input.

RE: Accounting for future concrete columns

Use rebar couplers (such as Lenton) with internal threads - set flush with the top of the column stubs.  The threaded openings can be plugged with plastic caps and the whole column stub covered with roofing.
