Working on someone elses drawing. They are using imperial as primary units and metric as secondary. These both show up on the drawing but with metric below the dim line in brackets, is it possible to change this so the metric is above and the imperial is below in the brackets?

RE: dimensions/units in autocad

Switch primary and secondary, then select Update under the Dimensioning toolbar (there is an actual command you can type, but I don't have it opened).  All selected text should switch.  You might want to add suffixes to the dim text - the same place under Style you choose Pri and Sec.  IF there are suffixes, you will have to either remove, or edit them.  Or it will keep saying 1mm on top and 25.4 in on bottom.  At least put this in the legend if dwg is too crowded for suffixes.

RE: dimensions/units in autocad

Having two sets of dimensions(Imperial and metric )on the same drawing kinds of muddy the drawing a bit.  Wouldn't it better to get rid of the secondary units and change your primary units by a factor of 25.4 reflecting metric values?

Thanks for the help guys, I've got it sorted out. It would be nice to eliminate the imperial measurements entirely, but unfortunately this drawing requires both.
