Crane Slew Bering Inspection

Crane Slew Bering Inspection

Crane Slew Bering Inspection

(OP)
We have a large and complicated Crane assembly. There are few facilities able to pick the structure up even after partial disassembly to carry out a required 5 year inspection of the slew bearing. I appreciate that there are methods or jacking up   but I am currently clueless about the practicalities of this

Does anybody know any approved method of inspection such as Grease analysis, UT measurement that would provide a sufficient level of detail for a classification society to be satisfied

RE: Crane Slew Bering Inspection

Try Lloyds Register in Fenchurch, London. The offer a grease analysis service as a condition monitoring service for approval purposes.

So should the Bearing Vendor.
There is also a method of checking
the displacement by reversing the
moment loads.  Ball or Roller Bearing?
