What is the best way, if any, to export a solidworks sketch to autocad?

RE: Solidworks to AutoCAD

"Save as" DWG or DXF

... or just Copy and Paste.

cheers

I tried to copy and paste with no luck. An as for the save as option there is no option to save as a dxf or a dwg

RE: Solidworks to AutoCAD

You have to bring your part model into a SW drawing, then Save As.

Have you read FAQ731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

RE: Solidworks to AutoCAD

My apologies ... because you can copy and paste into SW from ACAD, I assumed the reverse would also be true.

... and yes "Save as" is only from a 2D drawing not a 3D models sketch.

cheers
