Hi guys,
1)Please explain me a little bit about the MAWP and MAP
2)I need a good reference for the wind induced vibration analysis ( besides Bednar)

RE: mawp , map

(1)  See ASME Section VIII Div 1 Appendix 3 for definition of "MAWP"; the Appendix doesn't define "MAP" although I think it's same as the basis for the "calculated test pressure".

Anyway:

MAWP: Vessel (and allowable stress) taken at design temperature. Vessel is corroded. Pressure accounts for pressure due to operating liquid (MAWP is the working pressure at top of the operating liquid).

MAP: Vessel (and allowable stress) taken at ambient temperature. Vessel is not corroded. There is no operating liquid applied. Thus this is truly the "maximum allowable pressure" that can be applied to the component or vessel.
