Can anyone tell what a good equivalent steel for A194 2HM nut material would be?
Thanks

RE: A194 2HM equivalent.

Your question is vague.  Do you want to know an alloy that meets ASTM A 194 class 2HM properties?  Or do you want to know about another standard that is similar to it?

For the former question, a simple steel like SAE 1045 would work.

For the latter question, ISO 898-2 property class 9 is similar but not exact.

Cory
