Farm implement threads
Farm implement threads
(OP)
I hope someone can help me. My team is investigating a field failure where the field crew bought a piece of all-thread and nuts that they claim is threaded with what they called a farm implement thread and then used it for something completely different than it's intended purpose. I have not put eyeballs on this part myself yet, but I've been told it looks like a 1"-7 stub acme thread (I don't know how much stock to put in that however). I need to know what kind of thread this is and what materials/strength standards if any might apply to such a piece of all-thread. Does anybody know?

They list carbon steel, Stainless, & A-193-B7 (= good stuff, but not weldable)
Maybe you got the "ungraded" steel?
