Welding Calculation

Welding Calculation

(OP)
Can anyone lead me to a calculation to find inches of weld in different groove designs? I have searched the internet and numerous Engineering sites for the formula with no help. Thanks in advance for some help!

RE: Welding Calculation

aws.org. AWS D1.1 specification.

RE: Welding Calculation

Your question is rather vague. What do you mean by inches of weld, length? Deposition rates??

RE: Welding Calculation

The James F. Lincoln Foundation is a great source of welding information. Omer Blodgett has written several books on weld design with information on determining weld size, volume of weld deposit, and potential deposition rates for different welding processes.

Duane Miller has written a number of articles on similar subjects that can be downloaded from the Lincoln Electric website.

Best regards - Al
