High Temp Solder

High Temp Solder

(OP)
Hi everyone, I'm hoping somebody out there can help me. Does anyone know where can I find High Temperature Solder that can withstand at least 800 degrees celsius. I would greatly appreciate the assisstance!

RE: High Temp Solder

I guess that this isn't for soldering electronic parts.  Soldering at these temperatures is called brazing.  Google this word and you will find lots of data on it.

RE: High Temp Solder

800&176;C? SOunds more like an application for welding! What is the parent metal? 800&176;C is when steel glows dull red.

The application for this solder is for a transducer located at the exhaust of a helicopter engine

RE: High Temp Solder

For these temperatures I think you would braze or weld (cap discharge welder). However, I do remember that there are some indium solders that are high temp, and a quick search found this chart that has solders up to 1064 C !

I didn't know they would go that high!

Thank you for your help! It looks like Indium will do. Again, thank you for your help
