Draft update does not reflect replaced parts in assembly

Draft update does not reflect replaced parts in assembly

Draft update does not reflect replaced parts in assembly

(OP)
I am using SE V15. In large assemblies when I Replace a part then update its draft file, the draft view still shows the old part. However, in the draft view's Properties>Display tab the new part name is shown. This happens regardless of the assembly's Display Configuration being on or off.

Deleting the draft view and placing a new one is the only remedy I have. Has anyone found a better way?

RE: Draft update does not reflect replaced parts in assembly

Hi,

did you click on the button 'Check' next to the active
configuration (Properties>Display tab)? Did that not throw
the draft out-of-date?

dy, thanks! Yes that does put the draft out-of-date. Unfortunately, after updating it still shows the old part.

Hi,

Simple question, do you have the latest update ? (help/about solid edge: at the top, third number(xx)=update; exemple V15.00.xx.00)

I am running V15.00.00.72 . I don't think this is the latest update.

I have found a different approach to this problem, though. Edit the assembly, save, and close. Then open the draft and update. With no old parts loaded in memory, it shows the new parts! This takes much less time than re-dimensioning the entire view.

Hi,

then you have no service packs at all. Latest (last) update
is 14.

forgotten: you need only this one prior updates are included

RE: Draft update does not reflect replaced parts in assembly

SE often needs the assembly saved and closed before it shows changes in draft.  You can sometimes achieve the same with update all links but it seems hit & miss.

I've never bottomed out when SE needs the assy saved & closed and when you can just switch between assy & dft with no problem.  Hence except when working on really large assemblies I always tend to save and close the assy to return to the draft.
