setting screen center in Sworks

setting screen center in Sworks

(OP)
Sometimes ill pull in a parasolid file and for whatever reason when i zoom to fit the 3d file ends up being way the heck off to one side in perceived distance.  Is there some way to reset the screen center so that zoom-to-fit actually does zoom to fit?

Thanks,
Jay

RE: setting screen center in Sworks

Firstly you need to determine what is causing the off centre zoom to fit. Is it the origin of the part or is it some stray geometry or feature? It could even be an extended axis or oversized reference plane.

cheers

RE: setting screen center in Sworks

You can reset the spin center, but I am not aware of a way to reset the screen center.  The fit function simply adjusts the view of your part to the extreme geometry, so I would suspect stray geometry or a stray datum to be the cause of your issue, as CBL mentioned.

RE: setting screen center in Sworks

If the model is not set to the origin try using Move/copy body to reset its location. That might help, but if there is geometry out in space then you are going to probably have to remove it. Then your zoom should be fine.
