eDrawings Failing

eDrawings Failing

eDrawings Failing

(OP)
Everytime I try to convert a SW or SE part, assembly, or print file to an eDrawings file, eDrawings opens briefly, then errors out with a "can't read memory" error.

This happens whether I try to convert from the eDrawings toolbars, use the "save as" option, or open a SW file from eDrawings...

Any ideas?

I have tried to reinstall several times...

RE: eDrawings Failing

Is SW and SE and their corresponding eDrawings all installed on one machine?

Have you tried converting with only one eDrawings module installed?

cheers

RE: eDrawings Failing

Are you by any chance running a 9x.xx series nvidia driver? It makes eDrawings crash on opening (actually when eDrawings starts 'drawing' the model on screen).

RE: eDrawings Failing

I don't think you can use the same eDrawings publisher for different CAD packages.  I'm not an SE user, but I know that the eDrawings programs for ProE and SW are different, and they have to be installed separately.

RE: eDrawings Failing

Mine doesn't give me the normal options to allow STL output, measure, etc. that the publisher ought to offer--weird.  I had this in 2006.  Perhaps those features are in a different location than the old Save As dialog box?

Stefan, you're right on.  I am running a nvidia Quadro card and a 9xx... driver.  Do you have idead for a work-around or fix of any sort?

Thanks.

RE: eDrawings Failing

I just enabled software rendering, for me it was choosing between the lesser of two evils (the 8x.xx driver for x64 had some performance problems). So either install the SW recommended 8x.xx driver or use software opengl (run edrawings from the start menu, that way it won't crash, change the setting and exit).

Kudos, Stefan.  Just did as you suggested and everything works well.

Coincidently, I'm running x64 OS and, consequently, video driver as well.

Thanks again.
