Cam-Follower bearings (Searching for low cost source)

Cam-Follower bearings (Searching for low cost source)

Cam-Follower bearings (Searching for low cost source)

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to locate a low cost source for stud-type cam-follower bearings with a outer bearing ring size of (1/2" preferred) to 5/8" maximum. I can use the needle roller type or possibly the bushing type.

Inch or metric does not matter but the inch sizes seem to be much cheaper.

My target price is $2.00 per bearing or as low as I can find. I have tried McGill, RBC, Torrington, Smith, Carter, NKN, IKO, TSK & have also searched the Thomas register.

I would prefer an American source but an offshore source would be OK.

I appreciate your help and feedback.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
John

RE: Cam-Follower bearings (Searching for low cost source)

John,

Have you tried McMaster-Carr? They seem to have fairly inexpensive bearings. Unfortunately the lowest price for the bearing in the size that you need is $7.50 ea.

You could try them to see if they have anything cheaper.

www.mcmaster.com

Hope this helps.

RE: Cam-Follower bearings (Searching for low cost source)

Try a shoulder bolt with a casehardened piece of stock of the correct outside diameter for the roller, with an oilite bearing. Its cheap if you can setup and knockout a couple dozen at a time. $2.00 might be wishful thinking though. Tell your el-cheapo purchasing dept to lighten up a little.
