Is it possible to visualy cut parts on half in assembly, to make interior of the assembly visible when rendering 3D images?

thanks.

RE: cutting parts in assembly

Yes, you need one of the DMU products. (can't remember which one - Optimizer, perhaps?)

It basically takes a slice, and returns the result in one of several ways, including a volume showing the cutaway of the solid body or assembly.

thank you.

RE: cutting parts in assembly

Yes, but that's only temporary visualization.  Is that OK?

With the DMU product, the section appears in the tree as an application, and you can export your results.

Yes I see now it doesn't work when I try to render image. Also it cuts whole assembly.

I've seen 3d images 1/4th cut part in assembly to see the interior in pro engineer.
So there is no way to do this in catia?

RE: cutting parts in assembly

Again, IF you have the DMU product, you can hid the parts that you don't want to be cut, and then show them after making the section.

RE: cutting parts in assembly

Sorry to not answer the question completely - the only other way is to do a section on the part, itself.  Use a 'split' operation.
