Main issues with claw v liquid ring vacuum pump

Main issues with claw v liquid ring vacuum pump

(OP)
I am considering evaluation of replacing a liquid ring pump with a claw pump for a new build project.  I would hope (expect) to reduce overall costs by using a dry claw pump.  Ie no seal fluid system, no cooler or coalessor or seal fluid pump.

The only draw back of claws i am aware of is the ability to handle liquid.  Therefore you require a pre-demister (i think) or liquid KO drum ?

I believe energy usage are comparable ? (and both can use a VSD ? or is this untrue

any advice or links would be apperciated..
