Bonding thermoplastic rubber to steel

(OP)
Hi, Is it possible to bond steel to polyethylene based thermoplastic rubber while overmoulding the steel in an injection moulding process?

RE: Bonding thermoplastic rubber to steel

For chemical bonding (rather than simple mechanical locking), steel can be plated with copper or a chemical bonding agent used.  See the links in

The info mostly deals with rubber-to-metal; maybe contact them about polyethylene. http://www.lord.com/
