I am interested in the difference between OTI 95 634 and IMO A 754 (18).  Is one standard more appropriate for petrochemical jet fire applications?

RE: Standard Confusion

Thanks for the response.  I am trying to protect jet fire/hydrocarbon for 2 hrs. onshore/offshore for petrochemical facilities with an intumescent product.  SwRI has stated IMO but most others say OTI. How is one to know.

RE: Standard Confusion

Are you trying to protect storage tanks, piping, or structual elements of the rig.
Not an engineer, but
I would question the response rate of the intumescent product. Will it react quick enough to provide the protection, will it stand up to the enviromental conditons and still work.

RE: Standard Confusion

I am thinking about storage and stuctural members. The feedback results from military indicates exceptional performance that offers protection in the scenario you outlined. However, military testing is not as recognized in the commercial arena hence my initial inquiry.
