Transparent Rubber?

Transparent Rubber?

Transparent Rubber?

(OP)
Hi guys:

I'm looking for a material in an application that must be somewhat "stretchy" and spring back, like rubber, but is optically transparent (not translucent).  It can be thin and doesn't have to stretch a whole lot, but more than solids like lexan or polycarbonate.  Is there such a thing?

RE: Transparent Rubber?

There are transparent elastomers.  For example, Bayer produces a thermoplastic polyurethane (Desmopan) that is transparent.

RE: Transparent Rubber?

Urethanes are your best bet.  There also are some vinyls that might work if you don't need too much streatch.
