Simple Solid Edge Questions about Defaults

Simple Solid Edge Questions about Defaults

Simple Solid Edge Questions about Defaults

(OP)
How can I make "Sketch" the default function when starting solid edge for any or all of the modules (part, sheet metal..etc)

And How can I make the default line type for a construction line a dashed (only) line.

How can I set the size of the default planes to be a certain size...(they are very small by default) (I know they grow to be whatever but still I would like to know)

How can I make my own startup parameters so that It will always start the way I want it?

I have read some of the help ...but SE help is arduous and it always give alot of seemingly unrelated stuff I appreciate all replies.

RE: Simple Solid Edge Questions about Defaults

Hello RZ,

What version are you using? Do you make use of user templates?

RE: Simple Solid Edge Questions about Defaults

Hi RZ,

The easiest way will be to make use of user templates. It is quite easy to create them. Select "new" and select a relevant template from the general tab. Make all the changes to this new file and save it in a new folder, lets say "My Templates". Also give it your own file name.

You can then setup the location of your user templates by going to Tools...Options...File Locations. Click on user templates and define the location of the new template folder.

The next time you select "new" you will have a user tab to select from.
