Fire-Moving to SW2007

Fire-Moving to SW2007

(OP)
Hello All,
Sorry I've haven't been around lately, but one of our plant's burned to the ground a couple of weeks ago and now trying to play catch-up. Plus, we’re all now crammed in one building.

Here's a link to check it out:
http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/hourlyupdate/154780.php

Question: our company now wants to load SW2007 and run with it do to hardware and software being destroyed in the fire. We are currently on SW2006 SP 4.1 and would like to continue running it until we have a chance to do internal testing for SW2007. Everyone around here believes that once there’s a new version on SW we should install it. Any thoughts on this? I think I might know the answer....

Boy, it’s a mess around here!

RE: Fire-Moving to SW2007

You should always test the new version. You should run simulations of your types of files (making new files and testing some old copied files [in your case, if you have any]) on your system before making the jump to the new version. Some people have found issues with their files and because they didn't test the app. first they are now learning that when the next version comes out to test it first. because they are still having many issues with SW07.

RE: Fire-Moving to SW2007

You should always test any new version with your particular product before going into production.

The chances are it would be fine to use SW07-SP2, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

cheers

I agree with Scott and CBL.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
