Transferring the mesh to an orphan one

Transferring the mesh to an orphan one

Transferring the mesh to an orphan one

(OP)
It seems that some boundary conditions can be only prescribed on mesh nodes ,e.g, when one wants to apply hydrostatic pore pressure on a face of a dam one has to calculate (manually) the pressure on each node on that face and then put the number as a boundary condition on that node. Do you guys have another opinion?
Now  prescribing BCs on a mesh is not possible in ABAQUS unless it is an orphan mesh. How can I transfer my mesh to an orphan mesh?
Thank you for support

RE: Transferring the mesh to an orphan one

MCC1966,
If you are using ABQUS CAE. In the part module go to 'mesh'.
Then click 'creat a mesh part'.
