pan brake???

pan brake???

pan brake???

(OP)
I am a fairly new solidworks user. I was wondering if any one knew how to do a pan brake on a sheet metal part? I can brake in one direction but cannot cross that brake. so if any one can help that would be great.

RE: pan brake???

What I dont understand most is that sheet metal work is a common thing. Cross brakes are common in sheet metal and solidworks has sheet metal capabilities but you cant do a cross brake!!! thats crappy.

RE: pan brake???

You'll have to get used to it.  You can do alot of things in the real world you can't do with SW sheet metal.  You do get to be creative and learn work-arounds.

RE: pan brake???

A "cross-brake" involves material stretch and/or thinning (plastic deformation) and most solid modellers cannot handle that sort of math calculation ... yet.

cheers
