Friends

Could someone please advise on this matter.

Is it required per codes (DNV) to install Air flow switch on inline duct heaters?

For one of our semi rig project we intend to install air flow switch for duct heaters that are more than 2 kw ratings only, which means that any terminal reheaters for say LQ cabins are only with thermal cutouts. Is this accetable to class. Anyone with some info or experience.

RE: Airflow Switch on Duct Heaters

Each duct heater must be provided with a thermal cut-out and a temperature control switch what ever is the rating, but not individual flow switch. However it is required that an interlock be used on the Air Handling Unit (AHU)to trip the heater circuit in case the fan stopped.
