The ISO 14692 specifications call for a 1,000 hour survival test of pipe, fittings, flanges, and joints.

I believe that when this specification was originally introduced, a media temperature of 65 C was pretty standard.

The requirements in Canada for ASME B31.3 fitting and flange compliance include a long-term test at 93 C. The duration of the test is related to the slope of the ASTM D2992 regression curve.

If we want to qualify product to ISO 14692, and also meet the ASME B31.3 requirements, then we are testing at 3.33 times the design pressure at 93 C. This is a pretty stout test with 36" diameter product. Is there any section of the specification that would allow for a reduction of the multiplier as diameters go up? I'm not sure that the spirit of the specification took 36" pipe at 93C and close to 800 psig into consideration.

Is there any way to get around this test qualification scenario, or should we just get on with it?
