FMC with movable furniture

(OP)
A company has multiple training room with electrified movable furniture. The existing rooms uses rigid conduits to bring power to central locations, then uses flexible conduits for the final few feet. This gives them some flexibility to rearrange the rooms as needed.

I'm designing a new office in NYC and the company want the same layout. The closest paragraph I can find in NEC that allows this is method 605.7 about movable partitions, but in NYC and that section is deleted in the city code addendum.

Is this method allowed in NEC?

Thanks in advance.

RE: FMC with movable furniture

"but in NYC and that section is deleted in the city code addendum."

By experience, the city where I work, sometimes seems to not care about NEC, and always wants things to be done according to local codes (even if not required by the NEC) The point here, is that if NEC says to do something this way, NYC will not accept your plans/design since you did not meet the local codes. Hence, you have to make NYC happy first (crazy world), talk to them about their codes and how you can comply with them.
Regards

RE: FMC with movable furniture

If you are working on project in NYC, seriously consider hiring NYC code consultant not ony for electrical but other trades. This is more common than you would think, especially if you have not worked for NYC projects.

RE: FMC with movable furniture

Or the city may have thought that its redundant to keep that section of the Code why they have decided to delete it as so long that you install the partition per its listing intruction. Call the city and find out why.
