Hi

Can any one explain me what is the diffence between Senior/Junior Meter Run & Custody Transfer Meter Run".

how they are different in assembly(component) or function wise

Thanks

RE: Senior/Junior Meter Run & Custody Transfer Meter Run

Senior and junior meter runs are separate from a custody transfer meter run. That is, a senior may or may not be a custody meter run. Same with junior.

A custody meter run is a meter run that you use to change custody (usually related to money). They are usually under strict "control" and are regularly checked by the applicable authority.

A senior meter run allows you to change plates under full line pressure.

RE: Senior/Junior Meter Run & Custody Transfer Meter Run

Specifications are either ISO or API.  The API specification are the holding for all the special reports on measurement including AGA, GPA, and others.  ISO and API were going to "harmonize" but each group has elected to go their own way.

RE: Senior/Junior Meter Run & Custody Transfer Meter Run

From the depths of antiquity:
- Senior Fitting:  Dual chamber fitting from Daniel (now Emerson) that allows plate inspection without blowing meter run down.
- Junior Fitting:  Single chamber from Daniel fitting with a gear rack to jack the plate holder out of the fitting (but the run must be blown down prior to removing it).  Generally only available in larger sizes.
- Simplex fitting:  Junior fitting without the gear rack and available in all sizes.

Note that many companies now make a dual-chamber and simplex fitting (Daniel never made very many junior fittings and I don't think that anyone copied that design), but the term "Senior" is a registered trademark of Daniel (see http://www.emersonprocess.com/daniel/Products/Gas/Orifice/SeniorModel2000/Ds_sheets/SOFModel2000_DS.pdf).

Any of the three of these can be built to the reference standards that dcasto referenced and if so they can be used for custody transfer.
