Negative Eigenvalues

Negative Eigenvalues

Negative Eigenvalues

(OP)
Hi guys,

I've read already quite a lot on how to avoid Negative Eigenvalues in contact problems and tried to consider all the advices in my simulation but this problem still occurs.

What I do is put a normal load on one piece in one step and then apply a traction load. The eigenvalue - problem occurs in the traction step.

At the beginning of the calculation I put:

Adjust=tolerance=0, analysis = discontinuous
apply a displacement to put the parts together,
in the normal od step I remove the displacement an put the normal load.

So why is there still an eigenvalue problem, is there anything else I can do?

Thanx for help!
