FEA in unigraphics

FEA in unigraphics

FEA in unigraphics

(OP)
I created a bicycle frame in UG and I need to perform FEA on it. I gave the forces and constraints, meshed it. When i SOLVE , it says completed but will not give me a result. I have done this 21 times. What am I doing wrong
Please help. My graduation depends on it
thanks
Aaron

RE: FEA in unigraphics

You have to open the post processor (results menu) manually after the model is solved. You will also have to specify what result you would like to view (displacement, stress, strain, etc), I think it defaults to displacement.

RE: FEA in unigraphics

In your scenerio navigation bar there will be a report icon (or use the menu bar).  Run the report and the set your preferences like the other guy said.

RE: FEA in unigraphics

Aaron,
I've also come across such problem. A few months ago actually smile
The results node simply didn't show up. As far as I remember it happened when I was doing (trying to do) some surface contact simulation.
It used to be ok apart from this one particular case.
I don't know if it's solver-related or something.
At my workplace I should still have logs and printscreens I made then. I'll post on Monday.
take care

I did all that...see...when i solve, it says completed but there is no results in the scenario window.
is there another way?

RE: FEA in unigraphics

Does it output a .log or .out file? It may list an error in one of those files.

Are you trying to do an adaptive analysis? (I have had some trouble with that type). Is everything up to date before you try to solve? Any warnings when you mesh? Any other info you can give?
