Ladder bracket design

Ladder bracket design

(OP)
i posted this on the other board but i think it belongs here instead.

hey ya'll.

I'm working on connecting a ladder to existing concrete, approximately 24' tall, and I have some questions regarding the bracket.  I've already calculated that there will be approx 250 lbs per angle bracket, L 7x4x1/2.  I realize that will be a moment at the rung end.  How do i determine that this bracket won't fail?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Ladder bracket design

Well, I know shear will be good because 250 lbs is very small if you use 1/2" exp. or epoxy anchor.  Figure out the moment, figure out the moment arm, then you can figure out the pull out stregth.  Make sure your anchor can handle the pull out strenght.  Base on your load I bet its not that big.  I think (2) 1/2" achor bolt or epoxy bolts will do it at each angle.
