Adding Brading to a model and a drawing

Adding Brading to a model and a drawing

Adding Brading to a model and a drawing

(OP)
Good after noon, I have a model and a drawing of the model.  The powers to be now want me to see if I can add brading to the hose.  This is simply tefflon core hose with several layer of SS brading on it.  We did this in another system by simple wraping the unit in a texture similar to the cross hatch for aluminum.  I do see it here and when I do use a text, it did not appear in the drawing.  Any thooughts or suggestions here?  Thank you in advance for any assistance.

RE: Adding Brading to a model and a drawing

Adding actual braiding would be too much work and take away valuable memory/resources.
I used to do braiding. I always showed a simple representation of it with a note call-out of what it is.
Let the braiding people do the rest.

If you don't see it in the drawing, select the view you want to see the brading in and then select the Shaded or Shaded With Edges icon in your view type menu (instead of Line view) and the texture should show in that drawing view.

Thanks for the response.  Well, at least something appeared  in the drawing.  I used Mesh2 and when I select it appears on the hose, but blury and distorted and not clear in the least.    It appears in the drawing the same way distorted and not clear and I did try several other, but none are very clear.  Any suggestion on how to shapen the texture image?  Thanks again.

That, and you can try changing the way the image wraps around the surface.  In PhotoWorks this is in the Mapping tab--not sure about regular SolidWorks.  You might want to try a cylindrical fit or some of the others to see what you get.

Thanks, that appears to do the trick.

Sorry, tired today. Thought you wanted to model the braiding.

No problem, the powers to be are happy with it using a shunken mesh2 design.  Thanks for everything one and all and have a great night.
