thru curve mesh help

thru curve mesh help

(OP)
I am having trouble making a domed surface.  The surface is supposed to look like an egg split in half lengthwise.  I have curves defining the outside oval shape and curves defining the front and side profiles.  What command do I use?  In NX2, I would use 'thru curve mesh' to pick the outside primary curve and a point where the front/side profiles intersect.  Then choose the front and side cross curves to make the surface.  In NX4, it won't allow you to choose a point.  What am I doing wrong?

RE: thru curve mesh help

Have you tried picking the point before the curve?

RE: thru curve mesh help

I just tried this and found that in order to pick a point, you need to use one of the snap point selectors (end-point is probably most appropriate). You can only pick points as primary strings and you can only have points as the first and/or last strings. I constructed half an egg shape as you described using this method and it works fine. Hope that helps.

I knew I could count on you guys!  I didn't have my snap point selector on.  Been trying to figure out this one all morning!  Thanks.
