Marine Hose Erosion Velocity

Marine Hose Erosion Velocity

Marine Hose Erosion Velocity

(OP)
Hi everbody
May you please give me a figure of erosion velocity in marine hose? As you know, erosion velocity in carbon steel marine pipeline is about 5-6 m/s. But, as i see in marine projects, marine hoses with internal linining, are choosed by a smaller diameter. Is it correct that they can beer more velocities?
Thanks

RE: Marine Hose Erosion Velocity

You'll probably have to replace the hoses long before they are eroded from internal flow velocity.

OCIMF guidline for marine hoses recommend 14m/s. I have confirmed this value with Bridgestone representative in my area.

RE: Marine Hose Erosion Velocity

Connecting pipe will be around half.

Be sure to do a surge analysis with 14m/s velocity.
