Resetting SolidWorks License Permissions in regedit

Resetting SolidWorks License Permissions in regedit

Resetting SolidWorks License Permissions in regedit

(OP)
Our IT people says this it a SolidWorks problem and our VAR says it is an IT problem.
I setup a workstation for a new person starting Tuesday. Because I did not have his network login code at the time, I used mine. Then I would go into the Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, SolidWorks, Licenses, and Serial Numbers and give everyone or the new user Full Control. This time I could not, I did not have permission. Our IT guy logged on as administrator, and he could not because he does not have permissions. Anyone have any ideas outside of reformatting the hard drive to reset SolidWorks License permissions?

Bradley

ALWAYS do a backup of the registry before doing any changes.

Chris,
I usually do create a backup of the registry. It was getting easy to edit the registry and I never, ever had problems. So I did not make a copy. This time I regret not doing so.
Our IT guy is going to re-image the hard drive to original condition.

Bradley
