I am turning some EN30B on a swiss type lathe but am having no end of trouble with swarf tangling around the component and tools can any body help me please?

MAKE SURE CONSTANT SURFACE SPEED IS ACTIVE, AND ALSO LOOK AT ALTERNATE CHIP BREAKERS.

This grade will definitely be problematic, especially if the S content is low.  You should work with your tool supplier to get the most favorable chip breaking features.
