dimension for reducing tee - radius between run & branch

dimension for reducing tee - radius between run & branch

dimension for reducing tee - radius between run & branch

(OP)
Does anybody have a cut sheet for stainless steel 304, butt welded reducing tees?  I need the radius for the transition from the run to the branch in a 3" x 1½" SCH 10S tee (MSS SP-43).
If I can show that there is actually a radius, then I can reduce the pipe entrance flow loss in my pressure drop calculation.

RE: dimension for reducing tee - radius between run & branch

I don't think the standards call out an internal (wetted surface) radius. That leaves you a couple of options: One - go to your warehouse and measure a few samples and specify the same manufacturer for your project. Two - talk to a manufacturer's engineer for guidance. One which has some online info is Weldbend at  http://www.weldbend.com/Technical%20Data/Flow%20Resistance%20For%20Fittings/flowresistance.htm.

Thank you for the detail technical link

Thanks for the ideas.  I had considered measuring a tee out of our store room.

If I can use a r/d of at least 0.02 for a 3"x1½" reducing tee instead of assuming a square edge, my RV inlet piping pressure drop calc will drop from 4.6% of set pressure to 2.7% (which satisfies the <3% guideline).  When I get this radius measured, I will post up the results.

Looks like I will be leaning on this forum more in the future.
