We looked at this at Uni as part of our Aircraft Design studies and if I recall I may have read articles in the RAeS magazine or somewhere.
One of the major problems with these novel shape aircraft is apparantly ingress/egress especially during an emergency. There's also the fact that passengers tend to like windows which these shapes tend to limit.
I'm not saying it wont happen I'm just saying the basic concept's been around a long time and I wouldn't count on it happening any time soon.

I always liked the quote from the honest airline's safety talk:"We've given you a lifejacket. Don't bother looking for it, if we crash and you can use it then it will be a miracle, as this has never happened before."
