Advice for Methanol race car

Advice for Methanol race car

(OP)
I currently have a turbocharged 6 cylinder methabol race car that I am having problems with pre-ignition on. We have seen instances where the engine will pre-ignite and cause the head gasket to be damaged between cylinders. Does anyone know an effective way to combat pre-igntion? Also, could the ignition timing being too retarded cause the combustion temperatures to raise to a rate where pre-ignition could occur?

RE: Advice for Methanol race car

You need to post this in forum71 "Engine and Fuel Engineering".
