QDIM Ordinate Justification

QDIM Ordinate Justification

QDIM Ordinate Justification

(OP)
When I create a set of ordinate dimensions using the QDIM command, all of the dimension text is justified left.  I would like to change the justification to right.  I can't seem to find a place to change this.

What I am looking for is to have all end points of the extension lines straight across.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

JEM

In addition to my original question....

Is there a way to move the dimtext from one side of the dimension line to the other.

I understand you can move the text one way or the other and it will "jog" the leader line at an angle, but I would rather just move the text to the opposite side of the leader.

Thanks,

JEM

RE: QDIM Ordinate Justification

I thought you could pick the side to place ordinates when the dims are created (left-right).

The over-under is accomplished by placing a text override such as \X<> in the Override Text property. You could then match properties or you could also set up a "PREFIX" in the dimstyle for the override text. A couple of suggestions.

Yes, I place the dims on whichever side of the part I want to, but I can't control the justification of the text.  Basically, the first digit of the all the text is lined up on the side closed to the part dimensioned.  I want the last digit of all the text to be lined up on the side farthest from the part dimensioned.  I have posted an example:

Note how the 26 1/2 and the 28 1/2 dimensions are staggered out from the 0 and 2 dimensions.

By the way, using \X worked great for flipping the text to the other side of the ordinate line.

RE: QDIM Ordinate Justification

Oh I see. The text justification is not changable as far as I know. I created a program for our company to add inch/metric to a metric ordinate dimension. I had to get the text position and then move it to match the text length. A tedious prcess but I did it in VB. AutoCAD does not appear to have justification as far as I know.
