Dear All
Only two products from PTC are free: PVX and Pro/Desktop Express. I have tried to install  both but failed again and again. Any helpful comment/advice.
    Thanks.
    With Regards.

RE: Pro/NothingWork

Both times I have installed PVX it has worked nicely.  The process I use is to first update your browser - I use IE 5.0.  Then, make sure that the Java Runtime Environment installation goes smoothly.  Then, when everything has been updated/installed without problem, install PVX.

Then, when you double-click on ProE file in explorer, it will open in an IE/Java window, provided you have saved the file AFTER enabling all of the config options necessary to do so:
SAVE_MODEL_DISPLAY shading_lod
SAVE_DRAWING_PICTURE_FILE embed

Good luck.

RE: Pro/NothingWork

For PVX, you have got the answer. The point to remember here is to install only that version of Java Runtime which it selects automatically during installation because I have tried it with newer versions of JREs & it does not work with them(integration problems).

The installation of Pro/Desktop 2000i2 or 2001 Express is straight-foreward & I have installed it on Win98, Win NT4, Win2000 & WinXP & on all OS, it is working fine. Can you tell me the specific problem you encounter during installation?
