File Save All is not always Saving All parts

File Save All is not always Saving All parts

File Save All is not always Saving All parts

(OP)
Has any one had an incident where "File Save All" did not save all parts?  We are running NX2 without TeamCenter.  I have had a few users complain about loss work due to this issue.  I have not been able to recreate the issue.

RE: File Save All is not always Saving All parts

File-Save All should save all modifed parts that are open in your session of NX. Are the files that are not being saved protected files? Can the user save the individual file, just not when they do Save All?

No, the files are not protected.  The user is able to save the files individually.  As I mentioned before, I am unable to recreate this problem.  It’s possible that it is a network issue or user error.

RE: File Save All is not always Saving All parts

Actually it should save all parts.. If you somebody is feeling it is not working properly I would suggest rather go to close -> save All and close. THis should work any case and as said parts shouldn`t be write protected..check it before..good luck..

RE: File Save All is not always Saving All parts

woody4,

I have the same problem all the time when I have severial parts open. I go to "save all and close", then I get the box that says "part not saved, close anyway" or close to that. Then I have to do a "save all". Or visa-vera. It happens more often and to more parts, the more I have open.

RE: File Save All is not always Saving All parts

What version of NX?

I'll give the GTAC answer, "It's fixed in the next version" smile

Sounds like a bug that needs to be reported to GTAC. If they give that answer, the fix needs to be back ported into the supported version of NX.

RE: File Save All is not always Saving All parts

Or could it be a 'read only' part that has been updated in your session?  I know sometimes you update one part in an assembly but you only have read permissions you will get that notice.
