Hello everyone,

My name is Fred and I am an undergraduate mechanical engineering major working on a final project for my FEA class. I am having trouble loading an IGES file of a wireframe model I converted in solid works into ANSYS. Everytime I attempt to import the IGES file, the program simply closes.

it would be a great help if any of you would happen to know what's going on.

thanks

RE: Loading IGES Files

Hi Fred,

I heard about compatibility problems between Solidworks and Ansys. What versions of them do you have? Some versions like Ansys 8 + Solidworks 2004 are compatible and works well. The simpliest way to bypass problem is to create geometry in Ansys.
