how to create a pdf document from CATIA v4

how to create a pdf document from CATIA v4

how to create a pdf document from CATIA v4

(OP)
Is it possible to create a pdf document/file/drawing directly from catia v4. I don't think this is possible but I may be wrong.
thanks.

RE: how to create a pdf document from CATIA v4

Go to wikipedia and search Ghostscript/Ghostview.  It runs under Unix/X11.

RE: how to create a pdf document from CATIA v4

I pretty sure it´s possible via PLOT command. It may be a custom company setting, but I don´t think so. In the "Plotting" dialog box, check the "List" button next to "Devices". A new box will open, where you´ll see (if I´m right) a list of the plotting devices: your company´s plotter(s), but also more options of "plotting" the drawing as a tiff or jpg picture, as a pdf file, ghostscript and some other options, I don´t remember all of them now.

Hope that helps

Stely

We use PrimoPDF to convert our CAD drawings (not CATIA) into PDF file so be sent out for quoting here.

When intstalled it mimics a printer device and can be selected as a print option.  I can't say that it will work for CATIA but it might be worth a try.
