Spot welding on Republic Seabee

Spot welding on Republic Seabee

I'm looking for information on the details of the spot welding done on Republic RC-3 Seabee, a seaplane produced in 1946 and 47. More than 1,000 were made and many are still flying, and one of the keys to their low cost construction was the spot welding extensively used on the hull and flying surfaces. I'm looking for the process sheet if possible, but even if there's no such document, I'd really appreciate if you could shed light on the details.

Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you, amorrison4, but I've already checked the website (and the other helpful one, www.seabee.info, but they don't have anything on the details, either. Boy, I'm really out of the ideas...

But thanks for the input, amorrison4!

RE: Spot welding on Republic Seabee

You might want to contact one of the aviation museums that do a lot of restorations. This is especially true of the ones that restore naval aircraft. There is an awful lot of talent around these shops.

Here is our local one. There are links to other museums on this site.

PS:
If you are in the area it is worth a visit.
