IMPORT IGES AREAS PROBLEMS ?

IMPORT IGES AREAS PROBLEMS ?

IMPORT IGES AREAS PROBLEMS ?

(OP)
Hi everybody,

I have some problems while trying to use ANSYS IGES import with defeature model option active (this option must be active to allow model simplification before meshing). Every time I try to import an area, an error message appears telling me that “IGES file does not exist please check the file name for a successful operation”, although that the same file can be imported by solidwoks or catia.

Is there some one who can help me?

Thanks a lot.

RE: IMPORT IGES AREAS PROBLEMS ?

Hi,
if the first and only message you get is that the file doesn't exist, then try checking that the filename and the path respect the naming rules in ANSYS (they are much more restrictive than Windows' ones). You can try importing the file from a directory whose full name is very short, for example.

Also check the output window, so you can see, what ansys gets as path and file name. Compare this output path and name with the input path and name. If the path or file name has empty places, use 'path/filename'.

Regards,
Alex
