Hi all,
I want know, Can I use Translate-- move command in catia V4.
I heard this command we should not use. If any body knows why, pls let me know this.

I don't know if you heard that right.

What I've always understood about transformations in Catia V4, is that IF you use them, it's best to make axis-to-axis transformations, and KEEP the axis, along with some sort of label, so that downstream users can easily put the geometry back in its original position.

This was a best practice for us in our department.

You do NOT want to use transformations in V4 without making it known why you are doing so. (in a released engineering model)  If it's your own work, and not released, there is no reason in the world not to use it...

You got some bad advice.  Unless, of course, whoever told you that can explain why. (many of us have been using transformations for over 10 years)

The other thing to watch is if you are transforming a solid, make sure to move it's parents as well - otherwise your driving geometry will be back at the old location.
