WPS

WPS

(OP)
We have a qualified WPS for pipe to pipe welding joint: material API 5L-X53 to 5L-X60.
Does this qualification cover pipe to pipe material API 5L-X52?
Please refer to the reference standard article.
Thanks

RE: WPS

API 5L Grade X60 and API 5L Grade X52 are of the same Material No and Group No., 1, 2, respectively. So, the WPS should be acceptable for X52 base material.

Source; AWS B2.1:2005 Specification for Welding Procedure and Performance Qualification.

RE: WPS

Under BPVC- no. The X53 doesn't have P-no assigned, thus you have only X53-toX60 covered.

RE: WPS

Oops, sorry for my mistake. X60 is S-no 1. You have X53-to-P/S-no1 covered.
